Concerning Disease

My family recently found out that someone we love has a rare blood disease that has no cure and would require him to need dialysis every day for the rest of his life.  We are all saddened as we watch nature take its course.  I have another family member who gets dialysis several times a week, and it is inconvenient but allows him to live relatively well.  I couldn't help but think of these people as a carnal example of what Christ does for us spiritually.  We all have a blood disease that flows through us and it's called sin nature.  Our tendencies toward evil have guaranteed our demise if unchecked.  Masking the symptoms with church attendance or donations to charity are not going to save us because acting good is different than being good much like looking healthy is different than being healthy.  We have to apply the cure or else we will find that when the "medicine" wears off we are worse that we were before we started attempting to cover the sym...
