A Reflection of Marriage for us Single People

I wrote earlier in my blog that this year I would be focusing on my part in the marriage analogy in the Bible.  Men are suppose to be to Christ as women are to the church. In my academia I decided to study what God has called the church to be in the hopes of discovering what God has called women to be. I have received the most amazing answer in record time. 

God told me the single word that perfectly connects the relationship between Christ and the church is reflection.  I researched every scripture in the Bible that talks about the church and pulled out every adjective in those scriptures referring to the church, and amazingly enough God revealed this word to me out of my own mouth while I was praying.  I then was led to a book that I had been reading at the suggestion of my pastor.  It wasn't even about marriage or the church, but within one chapter it ended up talking about how the church is suppose to be a reflection of Christ.  At this point I said "I get it Lord.  Thank you for making it clear for me."  All of God's people,which are also referred to as the church or body of believers, are suppose to be a reflection of him, and therefore a wife should be the reflection of her husband.

  Because the whole sanctity of marriage was created to be a reflection whether or not the spouses within the marriage follow the plan, the marriage obeys its function.  I say both spouses because men are also to reflect Christ.  The church refers to all believers not just females, and let us not forget that God is neither male nor female.  God just puts himself as the role of male in the marriage relationship because men are the head in the marriage just as Christ is the head of the body of believers. Those who are married and christian are a part of two marriages, I am not advocating polygamy here,  the physical and the spiritual, and women are not only the reflection of her husband but also of Christ.  Therefore when the husband is not reflecting Christ and is acting in a way that is ungodly then the wife has the ability to choose to reflect Christ as the role of her spiritual husband.  Ideally  a christian man will reflect Christ therefore his wife as a reflection of her husband will also reflect Christ.  Either way Christ is suppose to be shown in the marriage.  This is the function of marriage to show Christ to the world.   To show true love to a world that has lost its meaning, and to remind believers how much God loves us by sending us someone to be his representative.  It is crazy how much God loves us.  By the way the book that I was reading when God showed me the reflection response for the second time is called Unmerited Favor.  A great book.

    I started dating when I was incredibly young. I was 19 years old when we first began to show interest in Ron. Thern was 25 and basically ready for marriage. I was ready to explore college life. Neither of us were Christians, but both of us enjoyed our friendship and what became a romantic relationship—except it was not a good or healthy relationship because Ron was having an affair with my friend Ela. My immaturity and desire to explore didn’t match his readiness for marriage. We tried twice at engagement and broke it off twice. Both heartbroken by sin and what seemed like the end, we parted ways.

Mr. Sandman Where are you?

I was told that by 6 months old or so my son should be effectively sleeping through the night. Well, Tomorrow is his first birthday and he has already woken up twice...make that three times because he woke up while I was writing this! I really miss sleeping and I want my little one to get sleep too. He wakes up every two or three hours to nurse. I try to get him to go back to sleep, but a baby who is standing up and pulling on the side of his crib isn't going back to sleep easily. I sing, swing, shush , and attempt to swaddle, but he won't have any of it. Sometimes I let him cry his way back to sleep, but it only last for about a half hour before he reawakens more determined than before. I have a dream

I used to dream all the time that I was witnessing to people.  People would ask me questions and I would begin to speak about the goodness of the Lord, and how Jesus was the solution to all of their problems or desires.  I feel anointed to be having those dreams again.  Maybe someone needs these words.  I talk about my journey of faith, but maybe you haven't begun that journey yet so let me tell you about Jesus.  Jesus is the Christ, the savior of the world, the messiah, the only begotten son of God.  Jesus is God in humanity.
