Love is Never Wrong and God Loves Everyone

I have heard people blame love for bad choices, and I have been guilty of that same thing.  Looking again at what God calls love that can't be right.  Because God is love that means that love can never be wrong and love can never do wrong.  Love never fails...EVER.  Therefore if we fail to make good relationship choices including but not limited to the areas of family, friends, spouses, dating, church, work, or the community, then it wasn't because of our love for those people and things.  People do not just have sex because they love each other, they do it because of other motives such as arousal, the desire for children, stress, etc.  If people had sex every time they felt love for each other without any other feeling accompanying it such as lust then they would never make it to work, school, church, or anywhere else.  People aren't having sex constantly therefore love is not a sufficient reason for it. No one can use the excuse that they were fornicating or committing adultery because they loved anyone.  Love doesn't make us sin.  God doesn't make us sin.  This goes for every thing that  we do that misses the mark.  We can't blame God for our bad decisions and because God is love we can't blame love for our bad choices either.  When we show love we should be showing God.  If we are doing things that God would not be pleased with we can't possibly be showing God to others therefore we can not be showing love.  Love is a choice to care about someone else at least as much as yourself  no matter what, a choice to show the love that God has for them.  To love someone rightly is to show God to that person.  Love has nothing to do with crime, abuse, greed, lust, hate, selfishness, desperation, or pride.  These things are wrong and there is no love in them. True love is completely pure of motives.

When we are transformed into the image of Christ through salvation God sees himself when he looks at us and therefore we are showing God to Himself.  Because God is love when we reflect him we are really showing  love to him and to the world.  This happens when when we take his word/Jesus into our hearts. He said "if you love me keep my commandments."  What he was saying in a way is that if we love him we should start to look like him, talk and think like him even. We should take on his character.  Have you ever noticed that couples who spend a lot of time together start to look alike?  They sometimes even finish each other's sentences.  It is kind of like that.  God wants us to spend more time with him, and as we do we look, think, and act in a way that is more like him. When people look at us they should know who we belong with.  We should be totally encompassed of love/God, the kind of love that draws people in.  Everyone wants to be loved, and oddly enough everyone is loved.  God loves them.   He proved it when he sacrifice Jesus to be able to have a relationship with us.  God cut through all of the mess that we created to get close to us again.  There is no greater love than to sacrifice your life for your friends.  God calls us his friends, and he loves us enough to sacrifice his own son for us. God values our relationship that much.  God made sure to give us a description of the love that he wants for us, the love that he wants us to have and give.

In 1Chrintians, Colossians, and 1st and 2nd Timothy  is described the way of love also called charity.

Love: is long suffering, is kind, rejoices in the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, never fails, is the bond of perfectness, is pure hearted, is in good conscience, of faith unfeigned/sincere

NOT love: envious, puffed up/prideful, easily provoked, vaunts itself/boasts, rejoices in iniquity/wickedness, behaves unseemly/indecently, seeks her own way,

When I am in doubt of whether or not I am acting out of love or if someone else is acting out of  love for me I can look at these qualifications.   My goal is to do everything in love.  1Chorinthians 16:14 says "Let all your things be done with charity"  The more I love the more I believe that I will be within God's will for my life.  I will become a better reflection of him and I will be witness of how much God loves everyone.  God's love is real.
