Believe it or Not: This WILL determine your life

This is the choice that we all get to make every day.  Things happen around us and we have to decide what to believe about them.  Every thing else happens based on what we choose to believe.  I used to think that life was so complicated and the right choices were so elusive, but when God gave us choice it was simple: Believe me or not.  The only thing that we can do to please God is believe and the only thing that we could do to garauntee our demise is not to believe.  Everything that do we do is based on what we believe deep within ourselves.  Our lives reflect our level of belief in who we are, who others are, and who God is.  Believe it or not our future all depends on what we believe.  The tricky part comes when we try to change the truth to what we believe versus changing what we believe to fit truth.  The truth can not change, but what we believe can.  When we try to twist the truth rather then amending our understanding then life begins to look like chaos, but really the chaos is within ourselves.  The truth is that we don't have all of the answers and we will always be searching for more understanding.  The truth is that we don't ever see the full picture of any situation. The truth is that we are all more similar than we are different if we look at our needs for survival. The truth is that out of our need we all submit ourselves to something, even if it is an image of ourselves. The truth is that whoever or whatever we believe over everyone or everything else we submit ourselves to.   The truth is that what we submit ourselves to we give permission to tell us who we are.  I heard a powerful speaker this past Mother's Day Weekend that Knowing isn't half the battle it's all of it; knowing who you are and who you serve.  I am inclined to agree.  My successes and failures have been the result of what and who I chose to believe about who I am and can be.  My struggle is the same as many others if not all others.  It is the struggle to know who I believe and to see the truth as clearly as possible.  I choose to believe Christ because I have tried his word and it has come through every time, and when I start to forget what he has done for me and others he does something else to remind me that he's got my life covered.  As I get to know his word better I get to know who I believe better and that makes me believe more.  The word of God has never failed me, and I am confident that it never will because God is not a liar.  Believe it or not.
