Journey to Righteousness...where do I go from here?
So I've been crewing on the righteousness study all month and yesterday Psalms 37 opened the flood gates and here is why. There is so much scripture about what righteousness looks like, but I desperately wanted to know how we get to that place. Psalms 37 is the road map and the solution to my righteousness searches. In verses 3-6 it says this, "Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgement as the noonday." Wow! This informs us that the work of our righteousness is hinged on our ability to trust God completely. Once again faith makes it's appearance. This is the prerequesite for righteousness, and when we place our complete trust in God then HE brings forth our righteousness and judgement too. This is a great wonder and relief to me because I tend to worry about making wrong decisions. All that my worrying has done is bring me more pressure decisions and ultimately bad decisions. Thank God that he does all things well including give us sound judgement and clothe us in righteousness. It is the Lords doing and it's marvelous in my eyes. How about you?
