A War of Words

As I think about how God has spoken everything into existance and has given us his word as our sword, it makes me ponder the power that read, written, and spoken words have in our lives.  The word of God is our only way to fight in the spirit, and because we wrestle not against flesh and blood our abitility to speak a timely truth from the word of God is critical to the quality of our existance in this present world.  The other day I was really struggling to get anything done because I had this thought in my head that my efforts were worthless and there was no point to anything that I was trying to do.  This simply wasn't true then, and it isn't true now even though most of us feel that way at some point in our journey of faith.  I had to stop and ask Holy Spirit to remind me of a word that would cut through the lie and kill it.  Thanks be to God that he reminded me that God would complete what he started in me and that I would get the prize if I endured and that I can do all things through Christ.  Fellow sojourners, the Word is not only your defense but for the offense of every lie that tries to rear its ugly head in your lives.  Speak the word in season and out of season, and offend the enemy of our souls.  There is a disclaimer to this.  You must study to shew yourself approved a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  Don't wield the word in an untrained manor because when used out of context or improperly it can be harmful to your cause, and to purposefully attempt to twist and manipulate the Word in your favor is to turn the sword onto yourself.  Remember that the word is sharper than any two-edged sword.  If you wield it irreverently, you will be cut by it.  Speak only that which is in line with the word and spirit of God.

 Life and death are in the power of our tongues as God's children.  Speak life into your God given purpose and speak death to every effort of the enemy.  Speak life icommittment into your families and speak death to unforgiveness, lust , and pride.  Speak life into your finances and speak deat h to envy and greed.  Speak abundant life and overflow of blessings and speak death to poverty and despiration.  Until we start attacking the enemy, he's going to keep coming until you imobilize him.  Offend satan and his demons by speaking the Word of God in every situation in your life. Push back against evil, and overcome evil with good.  If we speak and live out the Word of God, we will be dangerous to any evil that tries to raise it's head in our lives or in the lives of those around us.  Do your words scare Satan?  Does the earth tremble when you open your mouth to speak?  Become a force to be reconed with by bridling your tongue and becoming a mighty warrior of the Word of God. Let's dare to tame our tongues! The Bible says that a man who can control his tongue is perfect.  I am not perfect yet but, I am going to fill my mouth with the word of God and continue to press for the mark. 

The war is rigged for the Kingdom of God to win, but that doesn't mean that we throw down our armor and step away from the front lines of war.  We still must play our part, but praise be to God that the Lord is our covering and our general leading us into battle with all power.

So I find that there are certain things that when done make for a much better day than when I don't do them.  As a single mom sometimes it gets hard to do these and then everything seems to be a bigger ordeal for me. Mr. Sandman Where are you?

I was told that by 6 months old or so my son should be effectively sleeping through the night. Well, Tomorrow is his first birthday and he has already woken up twice...make that three times because he woke up while I was writing this! I really miss sleeping and I want my little one to get sleep too. He wakes up every two or three hours to nurse. I try to get him to go back to sleep, but a baby who is standing up and pulling on the side of his crib isn't going back to sleep easily. I sing, swing, shush , and attempt to swaddle, but he won't have any of it. Sometimes I let him cry his way back to sleep, but it only last for about a half hour before he reawakens more determined than before. The screaming wears on my nerves and the lack of sleep is wearing on my days. Some days I think "This is it. This is my life now. I have a dream

I used to dream all the time that I was witnessing to people.  People would ask me questions and I would begin to speak about the goodness of the Lord, and how Jesus was the solution to all of their problems or desires.  I feel anointed to be having those dreams again.  Maybe someone needs these words.  I talk about my journey of faith, but maybe you haven't begun that journey yet so let me tell you about Jesus.  Jesus is the Christ, the savior of the world, the messiah, the only begotten son of God.  Jesus is God in humanity. He came down to earth, lived a human life, did miraculous things to show people who he was and how much he loved them.  Jesus felt every human emotion that any of us have ever felt.
