Why Does Anyone Need Jesus?

It is both logical and fair for people to think critically before deciding if they want a life of Christianity or not. It would be foolish to jump into something without having a good reason, and it would be just as foolish to give up something that you enjoy without an expectation of something better.  The more I get to know God the more I realize that I made the right choice when I chose salvation. I also am coming to a better understanding of how badly I need him in my life.  I got saved very young, and I thank God for touching my heart so early.  I wasn't playing a game or following a fad, I really believed that Jesus was the son of God and that he lived, lied, and rose again so that I could live in heaven forever with God when I died.  I wanted to be saved, and I was grateful for the love that God showed to me.  What I didn't realize was how much I needed saving from.  You don't realize how broken the world is, how broken you are until you see the original plan for life.

As I began to read my Bible for myself, I saw a beautiful vision of what God intends life to be for us.  God wants us to be peaceful, joyful, loving, sharing, and overflowing with every good thing.  Could you imagine waking up every morning thankful because you know that you are fully loved, fully provided for, fully accepted, and all you have to do is share that?  The only thing separating us from that life is sin.   All of us have done wrong and all of us have broken God's heart.  Next to the beauty of the perfect existence, this world is a horror story with occasional shades of beauty from the original work of art.  Our lives have been painted over with sin and death, and only the blood of Jesus can remove the stains to reveal the beauty in us that God created.  So the question becomes, do you really like the way that your life is being painted over?  In order to really decide you must first have the truth about what was original perfect painting looks like, and I am going to do my best to present it to you with the word of God.  Here we go:

Genesis 17:1-2 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.  And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

2 Samuel 22:31-33 As for God his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried; he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God? God is my strength and power; and he maketh my way perfect.

2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him...

Psalms 37:37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright; for the end of that man is peace.

Psalms 139:7-8 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me; thou shalt stretch froth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me. The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me; thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever; forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day

John 17:22-23 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me , that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. (Jesus talking)

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 13: 11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the of love and peace shall be with you.

Ephesians 4:11-13 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, fore the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:Till we all come in the unity of faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:

2 Timothy 3: 16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God and if profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Hebrews 13:20-21 Now the God of peace that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

James 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning

James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

1 John 4:17-18 Herein is out love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is , so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because hear hath torment, He that feareth is not made perfect in love
