About The Walls

      Walls have varying purpose including protection, support, warning, and intimidation.  Walls are  not malleable, they either stand or fall.  Walls are meant to make the statement, "Do not pass." When I think about the walls of Jericho and how the obedience of God's people brought the walls down without a single act of violence, I am encouraged.
      For seven days people walked silently around the walls of Jericho, and on the seventh day they walked around it seven times and then shouted.  At that moment it didn't matter how tall the walls were, how thick they were, how fortified they were.  Those walls could not stand up to the faith and obedience of God's people.  This shows me that it is the will and the way of God to work miracles for the people who call on his name in faith. Active faith caused the walls of Jericho fall down at the shouts of God's people.
      I take this example as a model for me to walk in quiet faith and call on God to bring the walls (any structures in my life that are not built on the Word of God)  down in my life. When I have obeyed all that God has told me to do,  I know that victory is the will of God for me. That is a reason to shout! Every challenge in my life is for my growth and the glory of God. That's why I need to ask God to strengthen me to trust him in every situation. I know he will perfect that concerning me, and in Mathew 7 Jesus reminds us that if we are founded and rooted in God's word, we will be able to withstand the trials of life.

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

     According to  scripture there are some walls that are meant to stand and some made to fall.  When I spoke earlier about the walls of my life coming down, I was talking about walls that built a prison around me.  Walls of wrong thinking, and believing are a work of the devil meant to weaken God's people.  Walls built by God's word are different.  They are a mighty fortress meant to fortify us against attacks in our lives.  These are walls of protection built by God and made to last forever.  No matter what people say, or how they treat us, God has promised that we are valuable to him. God has promised us that he wouldn't make us ashamed if we trust in him.  This is the word to every believer who has placed their faith in salvation through Jesus Christ.  These are the stones that I build my life with.  The Bible says that no greater foundation can be laid then that which is Jesus Christ, and I believe it.  Do you? What is your house made of?

Romans 10:8-9King James Version (KJV)

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
