Faith 2 Faith
Today, I was in prayer and realized that my faith life is changing. I finished writing my prayer this morning which consisted of thanking God for creating in me the type of wife, mother, daughter, kinsman, friend, and business woman that he wants. When I was done, I looked back at some of my earlier entries. Previously I had been asking God to do a lot of things and thanking God for things that he had done. When I compared the entries I saw my growth from asking God and being unsure as to the outcome, to thanking God for what he was going to do because according to his word it IS done. This is why I love writing. You can see your growth where you might miss it if you have to depend on your memory alone. I was able to see my faith growth!
Some of you feel like you are in the same place that you were six months ago or a few years ago even, but if you are in Christ, he is growing you. We are called to grow up into Christ and that growth is in your faith. Your mindset grows as you walk with God, read your Bible, fellowship with other believers, and spend time in prayer and service. Scripture tells us to renew our minds by God's word. When we are studying our Bible, asking God questions, and seeking to understand our relationship with God, it has an effect.
Five years ago, I was thanking God to be able to move into an apartment. This year I am thanking God for the house that we don't have yet. I made a list of things that we need and I thanked God for them. Why; because my God shall supply all of my needs according to his riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). According to God's word, if I need something, he will supply it. It is like asking for food and a restaurant and saying thank you after ordering. The food hasn't arrived, but you know its coming. This is where my faith is right now.
When you keep your face in the direction of God and build trust in that relationship, it changes how you function. Yes I have not only hopes but expectations of God because of what he has said and done. This is because I have had several situations where my only options were to trust God or lose it all. If you haven't had a moment like this yet, then you will. These moments are the ones that show you where your faith needs to go, and because God wants all of us to grow these moments will happen.
I encourage you to document your prayer life. Journal, draw, scrapbook, something. When you realize how much you have grown in Christ, it will bless you. I can't tell you how many times, I have come back to this blog to read my past entries and been blessed to tears. I have also been reminded of what God has called me to be and do. Sometimes journaling allows me to see where I have fallen off too. Document your life experiences so that you can see where you have grown and where you need to recover who God has called you to be. See the growth from Faith to faith and glory to glory. God is winning in you, and sometimes we miss that because we forget to document the journey. Don't miss out on the blessing of seeing how God is moving in your life. Track your faith journey.
Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith.
